I was due to have my period on the 10th, but had some brown discharge from the 9th to the 11th. I took a pregnancy test and the second line was pencil thin but the same color. The next morning I woke up and felt as if something poured out of me, and that day and the next it progressed on to big clots and some bleeding with a lot of cramping, but not extremely heavy. I was told it was a miscarriage but didn't go into the doctor. I took a test today and it still has a pencil thin line of blue. Am I pregnant or not???

This isn't just bleeding. It's clots. At one point a good sized clot with a strange "stringy" looking thing came out. Gross, I know.

The same exact thing just happened to a really good friend of mine the other day. If the pregnancy test showed that you were positive (even if the line is very faint) that is a positive preg test! Some people have a period even though they are pregnant, so I would wait a few days after the bleeding has stopped and retest again. There is a very good chance that you are miscarriaging, but there still is a good chance that you are with child. There really isnt anything that the dr's office can do for you if you are miscarriaging really early in a pregnacy. Your body will just pass everything out like a period. Now, if you were futher along that what you thought, they would have to preform a D&C to clean out any parts of the fetus that weren't passed through your body on it's own. If you are having a lot of unusual cramping and pain you can go to the nearest Emergancy Room and they will check you out and tell you if you are miscarriaging or not. They will also give you something for the pain (if you are doubled over). Hope this helps you and good luck!

You may still be pregnant, or you may have miscarried. When I miscarried, my OB ordered 2 blood tests--if the second pregnancy hormone level was higher than the first, we would know I miscarried. As it happened, we knew I had miscarried at the first blood test because my HcG level ended up being so very low to begin with.
Bleeding doesn't not always mean miscarriage however--roughly 50% of those who bleed during pregnancy go on to have a normal pregnancy. Please make an appointment with your doc ASAP! Maybe you can mention having the 1st blood test taken even before you go.
I will keep you and your baby in my prayers. Please repost with an update after you have seen a doctor. God bless!

You need to see a doctor. If it was a miscarriage you need to have the doctor check to make sure all of the tissue has been passed or it can cause an infection, causing you to not be able to get pregnant again. Also, some women can miscarry, and if they happen to be pregnant with twins, one twin can survive. It's best to go to the doctor.

The only way to tell is to go to your doctor. Some discharge is normal, but if you've been having significant bleeding, i would recommend that you get to your doctor as quickly as possible. You may be having complications.
Hope everything turns out well..
