Mommy....I think its awful that there are poor people who cannot afford a house and food, but there are people driving around in vehicles that cost over $100,000. And the gas that they use is killing the environment.

Mommy...I don't understand why the government doesn't provide healthcare for every American...not just the ones who can afford it.

Taxes pay for things that either we as indivudals cannot afford (public works inrastructure), or that are necessities that no one else wants to pay for (government, health care).

As citizens of this country, we have to pay money in order to fund the needs of this country. The wealthier people pay a higher percentage because they can afford to (but not in the way most people assume). We all owe a fair share to keep this country and its government running. So why a higher percentage for some?

Its because some things in life don't change depedning on how rich you are. A car costs the same no matter how much mone you have. An apartment isn't 27 times cheaper for the single mom making 27 times less than her neighbor. A gallon of milk costs about the same whether you're the family with 7 children or the wealthy multimillionaire in a gated community 5 blocks down the street.

Some necessities in life (food, water, shelter, medical care). that changes the amount that constitutes the fair share. Assuming that basic necessities cost a certain amount, then the remaining is free to be taxed. In this case, a poor person might pay 65% of their income to the bare essentials, while a wealthy person would need only pay 1%.

To make it fair and account for this, taxes are raised depending on your wealth.

Liberalism is ok when it is practiced.

But todays America's liberals, are not real liberals.

They are against change of all types and devoid of new idea's or solutions to problems.

Conservatives offered many new programs and initiatives the last 6 years, and liberals always fought against them, with never an original idea or solution to offer in return.
