I am in eighth grade right now and my parents are making me attend the town highschool, which in my opinion is definitely not for me. I would really hate to go there because I KNOW the kids are really obnoxious and clique-ish.

I don't belong there. I don't want to go to private school either. What do I do?????

Open to any and all suggestions, no matter how crazy.

Going from 8th grade to high school is a VERY scary process.

*Relax! Calm down, and speak to your parents about your concerns.

*Most of the students going from 8the grade to high school feel the same way you do, too.

*As was mentioned, above, try to check out some of the clubs/sports/activities your new school has to offer. You can call (or email) the school and get a copy of their list of extracurricular activities, and maybe you can plan ahead for next fall.

**You don't have to be good at any of the activities, that's what the other club members/advisors are for.

**You really don't have to be good at any of the sports offered at the freshman level, too. Most schools have really cool coaches who understand what freshman sports are all about, and do their best to motivate you in the right direction (you can be a superstar when you become a Senior (;=] .).

*Again, I would suggest that you take the initiative, research the school, and its extracurricular programs, and email the advisors/coaching staff. It'll really go a long way to calming you down, and brightening your outlook on the whole "high school" thing.

Good luck. If you choose to do this, please feel free to email me and let me know how this turns out for you.

There aren't any other highschools in your area?
Have you ever been to the town highschool your parents want you to attend? You should go and take a look around there: maybe it's not as bad as you think. Besides, you'll run into cliques and obnoxious people wherever you go to school.

I imagine homeschooling isn't an option, and neither is online learning. I'd look into all the schools you could possibly attend and reasonably weigh in the pros and cons of all of them.

Okay so first you need to relax. Check out the high school first it may not be as bad as you think it is. Before I started high school I was worried about the people I was going to school with. Once I got there I realised that there will always be the cliques and the obnoxious kids but i will find a place and I did. My advice don't let them bother you I got to a school with about a 3,000 student population and I found a place to fit in and friends that are like me. Another suggestion if there are any clubs that you think you might enjoy at the high school joining them is another way to meet people.

First sit down and talk to your parents. Tell them how you feel without getting up set. How do you know, what the kids are like if you haven't gone there? Parents try to do what we feel is best.
We aren't out to make your life difficult. Ask yours if you give it a try and find your feelings to be validated if you can then try the school of your choice. Best of luck.

Drop out , school is not for you.

Come on , you have to go to school , what do you want us to tell you. We don't even know what your other options may be , or if you even have any.

Sounds to me like you do not want to be where you are.

If you don't want to go a school, get home-schooled
