I'm watching on T4 in Britain, so I think we might be on the third series. Last I saw they were all off to uni - and I presumed that was the end of the show. Caught some yesterday and Seth working on his cartoon, Summer is at Brown, whats her name appears to be dead ???!?? and Ryan seems to be getting beaten up for a living. Could someone kindly tell me what the hell is going on? Many thanks x

Marissa and Ryan were involved in a car crash caused by one of her bad boy ex's Volchok in the finale of the previous series, Marissa dosn't make it and Ryan blames himself and dosn't go to her funeral as he can't face it, five months have now passed ,he has moved out of the Cohen house and works at a bar, where he lives, he is angry and does boxing where he gets beaten up badly as he thinks he deserves it as he feels worthless, he has now decided to move back into the pool house at the Cohens after some convincing from them and Summer, meanwhile Summer is at Brown uni where she is kinda not herself and is trying out the Hippie phase, protesting against cooping up chickens etc, she can't bear staying in her old bedroom when she visits her house as it reminds her of when she and her best friend Marissa used to spend time having fun together there. Meanwhile Taylor has returned from Paris prematurely, we haven't yet been informed why, and she is trying to avoid her ghastly mother. Ryan vows avengence against Volchok when Marissa's mother, Julie, gives him information obtained from a secret investigator, telling the last known whereabouts of Volchok, the proposal thing with Summer and Seth hasn't yet happened, in the UK at least or the Taylor/ Ryan storyline, Caitlain, Marissa's sister, who now lives with her mother and Summers father, has been bribing Summer's dad as she saw him with his ex even though he said he'd been doing some cosmetic surgery, she got some expensive boots out of him in return for not mentioning anything to her mother, who still is struggling to cope with Marissa's death and is on pills.

Thank goodness Marissa is dead - she was awful. Died in a car crash instigated by Volchok. The show has been cancelled and the last episode will air in the US on 2/22. There is talk of the CW Network picking it up now though....we shall see.
Taylor Townsend is the best thing to ever happen to the show.

Wow! Yes, she does...if she had lighter hair, she'd look almost exactly like her. I think Mischa Barton's a little prettier though.

On Season 3's finale, Ryan and Marissa are on their way to the airport when they are rearended by Volchok. He then pulls alongside and tries to run Ryan off the road. And he succeeds. Ryan barrels through a curve and over an embankment. The car rolls end over end down the hill, finally crashing on another road below. Coming back to his senses, Ryan crawls out of the car. Noticing gas pouring from the tank and a small fire, he grabs an unconscious Marissa and carries her free of the wreckage in a mirror from the time he found her in Tijuana. The car explodes and Ryan lays Marissa down on the pavement and rouses her. He tells her he’s going to get help, but she begs him to stay. And then she dies. Very sad.
CURRENTLY....the gang is at college. At Brown, Summer goes kinda hippie, but eventually she gets over it. Seth proposes and she accepts. Taylor is interested in Ryan, but he's still getting over Marissa.

This is the best season so ever. Shame they're cancelling it. Can't say I've missed Marissa one bit. Check out YouTube for some recaps.
