I keep reading on here people saying things like "men don't want commitment" or the all offensive "why by the cow when you can get the milk for free". Really? Do people believe this? Explain yourselves.

I'm a woman, but all that means in my reality is that I have a vagina. It doesn't mean I'm only after commitment and babies. Did you know women like sex as much as men and often for the same reasons?

I do believe that gender is a social construct and as society changes so does the borders of maleness/femaleness. Why do people say that women want this and men don't want this and stereotype after stereotype after stereotype? I just don't get it. I'm androgynous by nature and female by nurture because of my biology.

Second part, does anyone else think that these stereotypes are problems not just for women, but men as well and a huge factor in things like divorce? If we saw eachother as persons instead of walking penises/vaginas, wouldn't we see more clearly?

To believe there are no inherent differences between males & females, except biological, is naive. You may be adrogynous -- I will take you at your word -- but the vast majority of people are not. There are tendencies that are certainly masculine and tendencies that are certainly feminine. While stereotyping is, indeed, a lazy substitute for real thinking, cases very frequently pop up that reinforce these stereotypes. Using your own example, I see numerous intances recorded here in Answers in which women are having sex with men who don't want to marry them. Rarely, if ever, do I see men writing questions here wondering why the women who live with them refuse to marry them. The only logical reason for this disparity is that the gender roles underlying the sex stereotypes are truly based in reality.

Society as a whole wants commitment, but it wont' happen.

As for Man and Woman the very exhistance and desire is lost and gone astray by change and now Woman is looked upon as an object and not as a person because as you mentioned stereotypes which incidently is dissolving in the U.S. as we speak so I reead in the News, but thats another deal.

I look at people as people and if I get an opportunity to simplify I do just that and it has its rewards.

Now at days it style of feels that opposite. the final factor i think of roughly is committing to a guy. I propose i'm a single mom who's putting herself with the aid of college so i'm busy. it quite is been 3 yeas considering that I quite have been single and to on the present time i do no longer plan on getting married. i'm taking section in my existence and doing what i want. while i'm completed with college, I plan on having my occupation and putting my daughter first. i'm no longer asserting that I won't in spite of the shown fact that it is not a severe precedence and that i'm unlikely to stress over it. i think of adult males relish having somebody for the main section in spite of the shown fact that it style of feels that adult males and female are committing to a minimum of one yet another at a later age. i'm 27 and that's my 2 cents.

All I know is that if it were not for the kids that we would not be together. My wife is still the most incredible person I have ever had the privilege of knowing, but 24 years with only her. I think it is the female need of unrealistic fidelity that causes these issues for the most part.

Who are men really kidding? Women for the most part will forgive infidelity, but a MAN, almost NEVER....also, who "falls apart" most often after divorce? You guessed it- MEN!

Women can live without men. men cannot live without women...they just like to act like they can.
