Frightening prospect, I just hope America and its allies think hard and long about this one before going in gung ho as in Iraq.

No, Bush will in all danger do like his daddy and wait until he has below a month to circulate in place of work to attack Iran so as that he can hand off a distant places coverage disaster to the incoming Democratic President. Daddy Bush invaded Somalia with 3 weeks to circulate in his term without actual plans on what to do as quickly as there, Jr. will invade Iran in an identical way.

GWB's administration is certainly making threatening noises towards Iran, but it would be a gross error to actually carry out such an attack. Unlike Iraq, Iran has a fairly good air force and a very committed army, neither of which would simply fold up like Iraq's. In any case, with such an enormous strain on America's current resources, and the political atmosphere in the country predominantly against continuing the Iraq war, it is doubtful if GWB or his succesors would wish to dig an even deeper Middle Eastern hole into which US and coalition lives and money would be thrown.
And as for "... we need that oil...", well, if every American SUV owner ditched his/her monstrous consumer of fuel, then the USA would find it would no longer be so reliant on Middle Eastern suppliers. Every time a US citizen fills the tank of one of those huge engined vehicles, s/he is filling it partly with the blood of US and coalition forces who have died in that unmitigated disaster called Iraq. So do they really want to invade Iran?

The American Military is stretched to the LIMIT by fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan and now in Somalia. They would be really crazy to attack Iran as well since Syria is a good friend of Iran and so that would draw in the whole region. I don't think that even Bush is that crazy

america is financially stuffed,so they have to keep starting wars to keep the enconomy ticking over. you see it only ever sells dollars and weapons , and is in debt to china by 850 billon on bonds, but at the moment the yanks won't try in because they know they are not good enough , lets face it they got kicked out in 76 , saddam's backed ten year war lost and now iran are stronger than they were then. that why the america are trying to obtain somalia as a jump spot to create two offensive regions capable of getting to iran, and iraq as a destablised region to slow china's impeding economic domination.

We are in Iraq to basically police Iran. If Iran provokes trouble in Iraq or continues providing weapons to be used against US soldiers and or increases its nuclear power it is inevitable that the US will strike Iran.
