Yes, they are one in the same. And I'm not sure how to spell "Knoles" either...I think it may be Knowles. The more popular Destiny's Child got, the more often she was referred to simply as Beyonce. I think it's the media that started dubbing her just by her first name...their way of showing her status of fame...like "Madonna" or "Cher".
