Depends what you need the PC for. IF it was me I would go for the HP Pavillion. HP will be better built than the Acer and maybe more reliable and it probably looks nicer, more sturdy, etc...

As for the processors, someone is bound to answer this with a 'sempron is better' conclusion. In my experience processor type/speed does not seem to have a noticeable effect. My old Comp was a 1GHz celeron and that ran Windows XP and a few programs at one time no worse than my new laptop does now. Okay, the new comp may be slightly faster but between these two processors there will be no noticeable difference.

The HP has more hard disk space and will probably stay the course and won't feel as flimsy as the Acer and no doubt everything will run quieter and have a more solid feel. Then if the Acer is quite a bit cheaper, it may make more sense to buy that. Depends how much hard disk space you need - 80GB is quite a bit if you are not planning on installing any games or 100's of CD's/photos... Check to see if either comes with a Windows Vista upgrade option if you want to have the latest version of windows when it comes out.

both pcs are fine though i usualy prefer amds as they are better at running more than one aplication at once the sepron processer is faster that the celron, though the system has less hardrive space and the comment above is false an amd processer will run fine without compatibility isuess and all programs will work fine some ,semprons are 64bit also an advantage over intels
