I know Supes was once converted into an energy being & had energy powers and a blue costume but I've heard rumours of a Red Supes too...anyone care to shed light on the matter?

Superman Blue & Superman Red was nod of the hat to the old Silver Age fantasy stories where you had two Supermen, one with a solid red costume and one in solid blue.

What happened in the current version, when a villian (I think, the Toyman) tried to capture Superman's energy being self in a containment sphere, the energy split into two identical Supermen.

Superman Blue was the traditional color, with a more serious and logical personality. While Superman Red was more of a dare-devil. Both were definatly Clark, but each seemed to express a different part of his personality. Even when they transformed back into Clark, they had ties that matched their energy color.

Now, how the Supermen were put back together is an entirely different story... (to be continued)

There was a series of issues in Superman where he had the energy powers they grew so powerful he split into two "supermen" Superman-Blue and Superman-Red. It was a rift on an old DC "imaginary" story of the same name. Eventually they merged back into a single Superman

And as to the person who said "get a life" the question becomes why are you answering questions that you don't care about just to be mean to people. I would think any one with so much time on the hands as to fling petty insults at a faceless person on a message board is the one who needs to get a life: so in that Spirit "Get a life pal"

The excess energy allowed his consciousness to be split in two, with the red being the impulsive ID type and the blue being the super-ego. they reformed after a point and good old red yelloe and blue took to the skies.
