Actually it's the opposite in what I've seen. Police don't stop someone just to be annoying, it's all done in the name of safety. You've just finished cleaning up the roadway after an accident, perhaps where children were killed, and the accident happened because of speed, and you see someone doing 95 in a 65. On the stop he treats you like a second class citizen, but you do you job professionally while he tells you he wasn't speeding, and he knows some state senator on a first name basis, and he will have your job. If you don't want the clubs to close at 2 am, change the law, don't blame the officer who enforces the law. With some minor exceptions, and those that aren't don't usually last long on the job, all officers are helpful, sometimes too much so.

yes i have
there was this guy who let stay in my place for a few days that started to beat up is girlfriend in my house, so i naturally stepped in. the next the i know he has a shotgun in my face, i run as fast as i could out of the door and across a major road into a bar where i called the police. Now the guy actually was shooting at me once i started running. The police came a half an hour later, and did absolutely nothing about it. they then left. I have not trusted the police about anything since then. by the way i am a white male and i was arounf the age of 21 when this happened. the neigborhood was not the best so it seems that police do not care if they are not arresting the minority (which i was)

A few weeks ago someone car was set on fire in the street out in front of my house, when we called 911, the dispatch person informed us that it had already been called in a 1/2 hour ago, so my comment to this person was, I know we live the country, but are they coming by truck or by horses, because this car is completely in flames and I don't know if anyone is trapped inside, so maybe you should have the police and fire fighters slap that horse on the @ss and get a move on!
their response time was 45minutes from the first call?

Recently, my son was selling an item over the Internet for 2,500 dollars and he received a check for 7,000 dollars and was supposed to send the remaining back to this man. (scam) I took the check to the police and they said that it looked legit, and it was safe to cash it. I didn't believe him and took it to the bank where they ran a trace on it and found out it was fraudulent. So, I would say no, the police aren't always helpful. If they dont help, go somewhere else.

Yes. It is terrifying. Just try to stay calm, which is not as easy as it would seem, give all pertinent details- location, descriptions of perpetrators and any other helpful information. Good to think about this now. Not a guarantee you will be able to retain this information if you are extremely upset or unnerved, though.

police are cool, I call them once in a while. You just have to get to the right one in the right department. You could call them now and ask for a tour of the station, they would probably show you around.

I would say about 70% in my past experiences...my ex-boyfriend was very drunk one night &tried to force himself on me...I resist him so he attacked me and tried to strangle me...fortunately I survived the attack...when I came to I found a safe place in house and I called the Police...the ex-boyfriend didn't know I called them...they were there in less than 5 minutes and arrested him and took him to jail...I left that crazy, violent man! After 4 years of keeping to myself and not dating, I have found a very kind, respectful, loving, wonderful, faithful, nonviolent man from Bangladesh whom I am going to marry...

Yes I have, and no they weren't. Apparently it is alright for underage, unlicensed drivers to aim a car at a group of children and try to run them over, so long as it is on private property.

I had a restraining order against my daughter's biological father. He showed up at my home, I was by myself with my daughter who was only a baby at the time. I called the police and it took them 45 minutes to show up. I could've walked to the cop-shop in that time. Thankfully, nothing happened with that loser, but of couse he was gone before they showed up. To Protect and Serve? Bullsh♦t
