Most US History classes don't include indigenous cultures, that's why they're so short. We've been here for thousands of years. One unit on my ancestors (the Cherokee people) could take weeks!
And before that, we were Mound Builders---another ancient civilization.
Don't concentrate on the white people so much and you'll see a history that spans tens of thousands of years. The term for us is Native Americans and First Nations, not the racist "red indians" people outside the US and Canada use. We're not red, but olive like the Italians are. And some of us actually color our hair ;)

as an american, i agree. We haven't fought as many wars as Europe and did not have crazy revolutions like France (1 about every 16 years). We also didn't manage to have as boring as hell history from 100 AD to WW1. Your right, your history is so much better

Your question poses another question: if you distrust the American view of its own history, then why else would you ask Americans for advice, but to bolster your own opinion none of us can think for himself/herself?
However, if my paranoia has clouded my judgment, and you're really interested in American History (and distrust Americans, of course, since you already disclosed that), why don't you look to see what other countries teach their students about American history?

You can solve the problem by changing it from a history class to current events.

We are not a perfect country, but we are the best one going as far as helping people.
Yet we are made out to be the bad guy, but the first to show up when people need help.
Conservatives on their own give more and do more for other countries and Conservative Christians do more to build hosipitals, and help the poor than liberals.
People don't like to be shown up.

Why don't you talk about Yahoo Answers. I'm sure the subjects and characters you come across in Yahoo would create enough subject matter to last for more than 5 years.

You're kidding, right? A Monday morning joke?
You mean to tell me that whatever educational system you're working with doesn't have the resources to let you fulfill the course requirements?
You're also telling me that with a resource such as the Internet at your fingertips, you can't find enough historical material on the United States to fill a five-year course requirement?
Like I said, you're kidding, right? Please let that be it.....
