1. Mine's the baby in the oven. There are various versions - the one I heard involved a couple going out for the evening and leaving a babysitter behind. The couple returned earlier than planned, to find that the babysitter had invited her boyfriend around, they were both stoned out of the heads, had trussed up the baby like a chicken and were about to slide the poor child into the oven. Subsequently, I read an article where an urban myths researcher contacted every police authority in the UK to see whether there was any record of this. Apparently not - surprise, surprise. However this myth has gone all around the world, and is at least 30 years old.
