You left out "or" in your word OR did you really coin a new word called terrism? May be terrism is a shorter version of the more deadly terrorism. Whatever the main and the underlying reason for the growth of terrorism is the insecurity or fear of the humans, as individuals.

The average individual feels that he/ she alone cannot fight for the rights and hence a group has abetter chance of winning. With this in mind they surrender their individuality and some manipulator takes over and terrorise you and the world. You simply follw the leader.

People use terrorism in hopes of immediately achieving a desired goal (usually recognition and acceptance of their beliefs) without any thought or care for who will be affected by their violent actions.

Its the Machiavelli Principle put into action - "The ends justifies the means"

BRILLIANT QUESTION!

Terrorism would have to be...any country's way...of changing not only the course a country is one, but also bring fear to the people...
2 very powerful ways...to manage a country, that needs a swing shift....where they can not! work out-what the heck, is going on.

It makes people see it 'Terrorism''?...while other evil things are being done.
It is a diversion of such...quite a extreme one, but one non the less...Quite a smart way...to put fear, into people also.

Some would see it, as a way to control the masses. It would take hrs to go into...but that's it in a nut-shell.

When a small group is not able to wage a war and win over, with very limited scale of weaponry, manpower etc, terrorism is a feasible alternative.

cultural ,racial, or religious groups intesely driven by self identity too often ignore the first law of life , that we (humanity ) are all one. They blindly consider the second law- compartmentalised survival , superior to the first.

What?

Do you mean, "Why does terrorism develop?" or "What is the reasoning behind terrorism?"

The simple answer: the attempt to enact change through fear.
