I cannot remember who was in it etc,
Its a US film i saw it quite a few years ago now (Possibly 10years!), but it was set in 'Futureish' times.
It centres around a society that have to wear headbands to keep everyones intellect at the same level. The 'Hero' of the film
has to play chess (i think?) within a room and the girl he's playing against says to take the headband off.... (against the law)
Anyway, He ends up being shown 'The other side' and is asked to join, where the government regulates everything from music to TV etc etc.
He decides to broadcast some of this banned material as he feels everyone has the right to hear it, and gets killed for it.

Nope, not knight moves, I deffinatly seen this because my friend remembers but we cannot remember the films name!
The biggest part about the film is the fact that society is split into two, the general public and the controling government.
And people are kept 'Dumb' by these headbands...

You're correct. The movie was called 'Harrison Bergeron' and starred Sean Astin [LOTR] and Christopher Plummer. The auther of the story is Kurt Vonnegut.
