Almost every nation of the Persian empire accepted Alexander as liberator.
The state that accepted Alexander as Pharaoh and son of Amon was of course Egypt.
Correct said that Alexander respected the traditions and the religion of Egypt but he appointed Greeks to all the higher posts and he put the foundation to build the model Greek city of Alexandria.

Far as modern countries; He conquered the lands that would become the countries of the Balkan peninsula. Wait, no, I'm wrong; the Balkans were conquered by his father Phillip, as well as Greece. Alexander himself conquered what would become Turkey, Crete, Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Iran, Turkmekistan, all the "stan" countries up until the border with India, and about one quarter of India, mostly the north. All the above mentioned countries, had Alexander's Macedonian phalanx march on their lands. Oh yeah, then there's Egypt, but nobody cares about them. later.

In 332 BC Alexander the Great, King of Macedon, conquered Egypt, with little resistance from the Persians. He was welcomed by the Egyptians as a deliverer. He visited Memphis, and went on pilgrimage to the oracle of Amun at the Oasis of Siwa. The oracle declared him to be the son of Amun. He conciliated the Egyptians by the respect which he showed for their religion, but he appointed Greeks to virtually all the senior posts in the country, and founded a new Greek city, Alexandria, to be the new capital. The wealth of Egypt could now be harnessed for Alexander's conquest of the rest of the Persian Empire. Early in 331 BC he was ready to depart, and led his forces away to Phoenicia. He left Cleomenes as the ruling nomarch to control Egypt in his absence. Alexander never returned to Egypt.
