My friends father has had 17k stolen from his account via Amazon.com purchases and paypal purchases. A bank account # was used. Any suggestions on tracking the purchases made or how to get the address the items where shipped to. The bank has no records and the web sites are, by his account, "dodgy". That sucks when 17k is involved. Any sugg, please dont hesatate. please no jokes.

First, immediately freeze/cancel all accounts that have been affected. Someone out there has his identity and can do more damage. Report this to the authorities, might also want to try your state's Attorney General's office, don't know if they can help or not. Search Google for sites that help with this sort of crime, there are plenty of good ones out there.

Here are a couple to get you started but there are plenty of others:

Good luck.

Have your friend call his credit card companies, and or bank !! This same thing happened to me, so much so that they began getting into my personal bank account!! And I had to borrow, in order for my rent & bill checks not to bounce!!! That was certainly a scary time for me!!! But, I got the numbers off of my bank statement and demanded they credit my account immediatelyl!! And they did!!! Thank-God!!Then I did a Stolen Credit Card with my Credit Card....... And I just have one more company I will be sending these INK Jets back to!! And they will be crediting my account as well, afterwards!!! However, this all started from my placing an "Online order for ink jets" and all of a sudden I was getting boxes in the mail, I never ordered from companies I'd never heard of!! I was furious!!! I had to pay the penalties for maxing out my credit card and everything!!! It was right before Christmas too!!! And I wasn't even done with my shopping yet!! So, I wont be purchasing from online, anymore!! Oh, they also got ahold of my phone bill, and added some ITL payment to my set rate, (I get a monthly rate for the same amount every month, no matter how many calls I make, right?) well they began adding $13.00 every month, and I paid it for 3 months before I got fed up and called my phone provider to see what was going on, that's when she told me, it was from some online company, and she told me it happened to her and proceded to give me the phone number!!! And you want to talk about MAD as all get out!! I flat out called them THIEVES!!!! And demanded that they credit me back!!!!
