You have two ways of doing this. If the phone is capable of transferring to the SIM card, then there is an option in the sms menu or somewhere else. For phones that don't have the capability to transfer sms to sim cards, they can always buy a usb cable for the phone which usually comes with software and download the sms to your computer and then later reinstall it to the new phone. The second way is more expensive but sometimes your only way out. Actually something else just popped into my mind. Normally, your phone number and account is supposed to hold your sms's. So, when you swap your sim card to the new phone it could possibly come on into your new phone. I travel between two countries and everytime I swap the sim card, my sms's from before show up on the phone. Good Luck!!!
