Because people absorb information in different ways. Some people need to see things written down, some people need quick points of info to understand. Look up Myers Briggs on internet, very interesting.

To be understood or to pass the message you wish to portray, or to feel you fit in also.

You may modulate your dialect, or accent for clearer understanding or to communicate more quickly with someone. You could use a 'posh' accent if you wished to sound professional. You might also speak like a cockney to sell more books - Jamie Oliver (no-one wants to believe he's from Suffolk).

The way you talk shows what sort of person you are, it is part of your character and culture.

cos the yanks dont understand us? we have brit words i.e pub, boozer etc & when u speak to them about these things, they dont have a clue!
