Is being able to see all points of view, and therefore unable to become passionate about any point of view a good thing or a bad thing?

I think it's a horrible thing! That's exactly the way I am, and it gets on my nerves. I find it difficult to choose sides and make up my mind alot of times. Plus people tend to think I am flakey, when in reality I am just more intellegent than them! (JK!) :)
HOWEVER, I was an excellent debater in highschool, and I think it had alot to do with my ability to play the Devil's Advocate so well! And you know what, the more I think about it, the more I realize that I would MUCH rather be the way I am then like others who are unable to see both sides of the situation, or others points of view.....So maybe it IS a good thing. But it's still a CURSE. lol

Like all traits, it's both a blessing and a curse. It all depends on the amount of discipline you bring to bear. If you are disciplined, bringing multiple points of view on any topic will give you a clearer picture of reality. But if you are undisciplined, you never stop analysing a situtation, and this leads inevitably to the "Paralysis of Analysis."

See all sides -- but, choose.

Cheers, mate.

Be passionate about your own point of view and be flexable, for any point of view would be changed as you change angle of obsevation... Everything is spherical...being able to observe whole sphere is an ultimate...There won't be"point" on the sphere which you see cling with analysis, but whole sphere...Learn to see whole sphere without judgment... Mental analysis is nothing else but judgment...Judge not...then it would be Blessing.

A bad thing. But, of course, if you really were able to see "all points of view" as you put it, you'd already know that.

Analysis, objectivity and equanimity are great as long as you do not have to make a decision...... the rounded view lacks pointedness to show any direction.

it would drive you mad and you would fall for anything as you could not stand for anything as you could see all as right and wrong in everything for one point of view to another
