A while back I had sex with my boyfriend and the condom split also. I was about to start and I didn't start my period until 20 days later! Through that time I was so worried and I was so close to telling my mom. But then I started and I was really relieved. But I think you are really stressed out about it. I know I was. And stress can cause your menstrual cycle to be late. No worries.

Having a regular menstrual cycle is usually a sign of good health. When you have a late period or missed period it could be a sign that something is up. There are many different reasons for late periods but if the problem continues for more than one menstrual cycle, make an appointment with your doctor to discuss the issue.

Does a Late Menstrual Period Mean I Am Pregnant?
One of the first signs of pregnancy is a late period. But missed periods do not necessarily mean that you are pregnant. If you’re sexually active and have missed a period, then it is worthwhile to take a pregnancy test. You may still want to take a pregnancy test even if you have been using contraception. Since birth control can fail, taking a pregnancy test will allow you to rule out one of the possible causes of missed periods. Your local pregnancy center can provide a test for free.

If you have a late period and a negative pregnancy test, then consider whether or not you’ve recently been sick, gained or lost a significant amount of weight, have been under excessive stress or have taken any new medications. All of these things can affect your menstrual cycle and cause you to have irregular periods. Additionally, certain types of birth control, including the birth control pill, Depo-Provera and Norplant, can cause you to have menstrual cycles disturbances.

Stress can certainly lead to your period being delayed but it could just be that the morning after pill has messed with your hormones a bit. Check with the pharmacist to see if this is a possibility or call up a sexual health clinic if there is one in your area. I believe you may be able to repeat the morning after pill as well within a specific time frame. Best of luck.

The morning after pill can affect your period, also being so worried can also affect it. If you took the pill correctly within 72 hours of unprotected sex, you should be OK.

If you haven't had your period within a week, get a test done.

Good luck

I wouldn't worry too much - I should think the morning after pill is bound to upset your system a bit.

Give it another couple of days, then do a PT. You could have a quiet chat with the pharmacist who sold you the pill - he/she will tell you what to expect.
