Generally speaking your body takes between 10-12 months to get back into its pre-pregnancy condition. I say condition because form....well unless you are Heidi Klum you will be in the same boat as the rest of us! A couple of things: if you have a c-section it will make for a much longer recovery time, if you breast feed, the pregnancy weight will disappear faster (and you will burn more calories) if you are used to exercising you can do so (modified) throughout your pregnancy so as not to have to play "catch up" after the baby's born. But your body will never be the same, count on it. You need not be discouraged, but don't expect it all to bounce back because that rarely happens.

You must diet immediately after birth. Exercise too but hold off on that for 6 weeks. Do a vaginal delivery if you can. Most women I know say it was much harder to loose the weight with the c-section and they still never went back down to their desirable weight.

If you work out you shouldn't have a problem. don't push things right after, you will be in pain from giving birth. Give some time and I am sure you will. Go for little walks with your baby.

It all depends on your metabolism and your body... I think that is a worry of many expectant mothers. But from what I hear from new moms, your figure is the least of your worries... LOL!

BTW, breastfeeding will help you lose weight.
