My dishwasher makes a grinding noise.?

A dealer suggested I take out the spray arm. How do I do this on a kitchenaide dishwasher?

it lifts straight up. Roll out the bottom rack and lift out the arm. Sometimes they wear out.

There's also a plastic screen cover that comes out. Be sure to check in there. I found a spoon in ours.
