I have a multitude of broadleaf weeds in my Buffalo Grass lawn - so many I would be weeding from now until I retire in 13 years! Is there a weed killer application that I can use that will not harm the grass? I live in Central Texas. Please be specific as to brand. Thank you.

Tamarann - Please do not use Roundup straight onto your Buffalo Grass. Please do not use ordinary weed killer (2-4,D based), made for regular Bermuda and stuff, on your Buffalo Grass. What you need to ask around for is a wick applicator. It is difficult to describe but essentially it is a sponge on the end of a long PVC tube. You do fill the tube with Roundup but you just touch the top of the weeds with the Roundup sponge-end, without getting any on your Buffalo Grass. Well, a little will get on there but try to missapply as little as possible. I would use half the recommended strength as an additional precaution, until you get the knack of it. I wish you success.

i grew up on the plains of kansas where buffalo grass is the only grass. that is one type of grass that is really hard to kill, go to wal-mart, buy ROUND UP, put it in a sprayer and apply it liberally to your yard, it works great.

weed and feed type fertilizers available at Walmart, garden centers, lowes, homedepot....read the package to see if it is effective for your particular weeds.
