My son is 4 months old and already has a separation problem. I really wasn't sure what was happening until we when for our 4 month old check up. The doctor right away said..He is starting this really early..Anyway..HELP. We are having problem getting him down at night and staying down. He was always are good kid to put down at night. Now he gets us 2 - 3 times within 2 hours. Once we pick him up he falls right back to sleep. He was also always a very good sleeper. From the time he was born. Now he is getting up every 3 hours....

there are some really good books available on getting your baby to sleep through the night. Just remember to do what works best for your family. Also it never hurts to let a baby cry for a while , they need to learn to self soothe.Good luck !!!

It's just a phase. Be sure his tummy is full before he goes down for the night. That sometimes helps. The book "What to Expect the First Year" offers some good suggestions to get babies to sleep through the night. You may need to try several different things before you figure out what works for him. But whatever you do, when you go in, don't turn on the lights or talk to him. Keep everything VERY low key and non-stimulating.

It starts sometimes when babies have stomach cramps, you hold them and they feel comfortable. Then they get used to it and like to be held just to be in your arms.
Infants are very clever, and can get what they want from their parents. Don't spoil them or you will pay for it. You should tell when the cry is serious.
