media do not always tell the true story
They illustrate the story through their own eyes just so they can profit.

Their secondary purpose is to report the news. Their main purpose is to sell newspapers. This goes from the top to the reporter on the street.
Do they lie? All the time by only reporting half the story. The part that will sell.

Since the media influences people's thoughts and ideas, their purpose is to inform unbiasedly and with honesty. They do neither.
