I have to agree with you. I don't hate muslims either but I do believe that if they are going to move from a muslim majority country to a country that does not live under muslim law then THEY are ones that should make adjustments - not the country they choose to move to. The same goes for any other group that moves to a country that is culturaly different from their home country. They should not expect the country they choose to move to to make adjustments for their cultural needs.

To make any democracy subservient to one special interest is intrinsically dangerous.
Establishing 'swim times' based on religion is quite possibly the most frightening thing I have heard of lately. Unless England has ceased to be a secular state - public pools should have no religious obligations what so ever... and unless the property and pool are owned by private interests, with private membership - any public establishment demonstrating preferableness to any particular group should be in violation of the law.
Very, very disturbing...
I thought England was above such things - sounds like the UK is turning into America.

We have found here that giving preferential treatment to certain groups is a bad idea. Everyone should have the same rights and privileges, and then make individual choices on what works for you and what doesn't.
If swimming with men is against their religion or culture, then they need to either not do it, (swimming), or as you say, build their own facilities.

wow england is making muslim women their own pool!
what a great idea. we should do that here in america. England is so comopolitan and considerate of everyones beliefs these days. America should follow there open mindness but there arent as many muslims in the state I live.

Showing respect to the ladies is never a bad thing, I don't think. Some men these days don't know how to respect women either, so I personally don't blame them wanting to swim alone. If it makes it easier, you can consider it an extension of chivalry.
