Nope you're not (wrong about him being anti-semitic) he is absolutely and 100%.
As another answer says the truth is usually spoken under the influence of wine. He has had good protective PR to date that managed to innoculate him from the anti-semitism of The Passion of The Christ (bleargh to that The Christ in the title) and the surrounding disparaging comments he made during the producton of the film. The film itself is disgusting depicting a version of the Bible story and presenting it as absolute fact - the violence and loving views of sadism are disqueiting in the extreme and the depiction of the Jews highly questionable as is the whole tone of the film to anyone outside of the Born Again mid-West.
This is a man who built his own Catholic Church in his garden (check out a documentary made for the UK called God's Lethal Weapon for chapter and verse) as he and his father believe that Rome and the Catholics sold out at about the time of the Reformation or at least when mass in everry church stopped being said in Latin. The guy is frankly nuts. Unable to square the bigotry which oozes from virtually every pore from the hypocrisy with how he made his money from mindless violent films.
One good thing we won't (for now) be burdened with Mel's view of the Holocaust. Oh and by the way nope not Jewish ...now feel free to rant

No, I don't think he's anti-semitic. His excursions in the film industry may have led him to resent a particular Jew or two and, while in his cups, let his inhibitions relax a bit.
Yes, I do feel that you are sensitized to being a Jew. If you weren't a Jew you may not have bothered to pose your query. Not that your reaction isn't normal - it is. All minorities tend to overreact to any criticism of it's members.

i think mel said some stupid things while drunk...who hasn't. the thing is no one said anything when jesse jackson called new york 'hymie town' or whites 'crackers' nor did they say anything when ray nagan said they were going to make new orleans 'chocolate city'. there was no outcry when various other leaders called and said much worse about jews, christians and all other religions and they weren't drunk when they said it ! as for mel being anti-semite...no he isn't...he just made some stupid remarks while under the influence.....have you ever done that?

The old saying is "in vino, veritas." In wine, truth.
I understand he was pretty well lit on the night in question. I'm with you even though I'm atheist.
