Most caucasian babies are born with blue eyes and their eyes can change color for up to a year.

I just asked our pediatrician the same question and that's what she said. However, she also said that if the baby's eyes are going to turn brown, that it usually becomes noticeable before then - by around 6 - 8 months.

They probably will. My daughter had gray eyes for a few years before they changed to hazel.

Not ALL newborns are born with blue eyes! I've seen quite a lot of Caucasian babies born with brown eyes.

All Caucasian babies are born with blue eyes and they change after a few months to the color which will be for the rest of their life. Grey eyes sound nice. However, it is different with children of mixed heritages.

Your son's eyes may change as he grows older, but this is based all on genetics. Not just your and your husbands genetics, but on your parents also. For instance, I have two children, A girl, who was first born, and my son who was second born. My daughter has blue eyes, and my son has brown eyes. My eyes are brown, my husbands are blue, My father had Blue eyes and my mother brown. His father had blue eyes and his mothers are brown. Blue eyes are a recessive trait, but when you put together several recessive traits they become dominant. But not all children with family who have a recessive blue eyed trait will be blue eyed. It just depends on the genetic make up.

It may not, my grandson's eyes are very light in color (greenish gray), but they change in the fall (light brown). They are beautiful and maybe that's what's happening with your baby son.
