Remove everything from the "Fridge" and clean it out with a water and bleach solution containing very little bleach. Then you get at the seals on the door, there is usually mildew built up there, you can use baking soda for this. Next you towel dry the "Fridge" and place a freshly opened box of baking soda inside and you should be fine. Be careful not to leave onions and other smelly objects inside or you'll go through the same ungodly smells again

Clean out all the old food and wipe the interior with vinegar. Then place a box of baking soda in the fridge. That should do the trick. If you have constant leftovers, do this at least once a week. That should keep your fridge smelling fresh. Don' forget to remove all the drawers and shelves and clean all tracks and glass.

The best way, if it's been in storage for awhile-newspaper. If just regular use, bad smell-wash all interior surfaces in the fridge with baking soda in warm water. Then, if you want to help keep oders out of the fridge (freezer too), a box of baking soda opened in the fridge, and one in the freezer will help, and change them every three months.

First, I would clean it out. Make sure food that's expired gets thrown out! Also, make sure other foods like cheese and leftovers are covered tightly so they're not causing the oder.

Second, get a box of baking soda. Arm & Hammer has a box specifically designed for use in a refrigerator or freezer. You can tear off the sides of the box so that the baking soda can absorb the oder.

Once my husband and I left our apartment for a few days and forgot to take the trash out with us. When we got back we took the trash out, but the smell still lingered. We put some baking soda in a bowl and set it out in the middle of the apartment. After a few hours the oder was gone. It was amazing!

Alot of suggestions to use charcoal . Believe it or not, there is a fantastic product called Fridge IT that works great and made from some type of carbon. It really is unbelievable. Once you try this, you will not go back to baking soda.
I know you can find it at Linens and things and walmart. It's really worth it. You can also use one in your freezer and your ice won't pick up a bad smell or taste. I even use it near my trash containers and under my sink that used to smell musty. Not any more.

first of all if you want to keep it out you need to take everything out ans clean it really good with bleach water and dish soap . Do the same with the freezer cause sometimes the with share odors together . Then you can cut open a lemon and put in the corners or put a box of baking soda in the fridge and box in the freezer and make sure you shake the box every to weeks .I know they have that new Clorox spray that is safe for food you might i want to clean with bleach water wipe down then use that stuff as directed instead of the bleach and soap . Good luck .

Baking soda, after you've cleaned and dried the fridge well. I've used it on a number of refridgerators in empty apartments, and believe me, some of those fridges were rank!

Take everything out. Make sure nothing went bad. Wash out the entire refridgerator with soap and water or cleaner. Then add a fresh box of arm and hammer baking soda, (opened up) and leave it in the back. It will absorb any odor.

Keep an open tin / box of baking soda in the fridge after you clean it. It will absorb the order. You will have to change the box regularly.
