Don't waste your time learning PHP unless the only websites you want to create are porn sites or free blogs. ASP.NET is in much higher demand by respectable businesses. It was so easy to get a nice paying job last year with experience in .NET. I am still getting phone calls from people about my resume that hasn't be up for over a year now! I did have Perl, PHP on resume before, but I took it off because it wasn't helping me find a job and I wouldn't want to program in it anyways. I just did a keyword search on monster in the area I live and I got 40 jobs for ASP.NET and only 6 for PHP.

Hey Dude,

It is a life long process. There is no start and end date. Two months is a lofty goal. I have been doing this for 3 years now and STILL don't got it all down.

You will have to devote 24 hrs a day/ 7 days a week, every moment of your life....

What's the rush? You will burn yourself out and then hate PHP quickly. Take your time, enjoy your ride.

In programming, there is always new things to do. It seems to me that every experience that I have had is just something to keep in my back pocket for sometime in the future. I might pull out an old trick or tip, learn from someone else, or just write new code.

In any case, this is a life long journey my friend. Enjoy the trip.

Tom

As many as it takes. There is no fixed period of time to learn ANYTHING. If you're an idiot, then try 24 hours a day. If you're a genius, an hour here and there will do.

62 hours per day. Assuming you already understand programming, which you probably don't based on your question. Better make it 120 hours per day.
