Someone said, (jokingly) "I'm gonna give a shotgun a BJ"
Someone else said, (seriously) "Just go listen to some good music, NOT that metal stuff"

WTF!

Am I the only one who has warded off suicidal thoughts with some good rockin tunes?!?

P.S. Corey Taylor is a lyrical genius

David C., never, under any circumstances, ever say anything like "Hawwwwwwt" again. Not cool man. But yes, the music is an outlet. Whatever keeps your mind right. Who is MCR by the way? Don't bother with a response if they're some sort of emo whiners. (wah wah, nobody loves me!!!) Damn right, and nobody cares either ya f*ckin p^ssy. God, I hate that genre...

Some people get more depressed when they listen to sad/angry songs. Not to say that all rock or metal music is sad/angry, but it sounds like that's the assumption your friend was making. Personally Sublime always makes me feel better.

Rock music does not cause suicidal thoughts as most idiotic people think. It actually helps more, especially if the lyrics are something a person can relate to, even in a small way. When you're angry, if you listen to rock or metal, or anything under that category, songs that are angry also can make you feel better. You relate to it better. I don't know if you've heard it, but Pain by Three Days Grace is that kind of song for me. If I'm pissed, I do not want to hear happy-go-lucky sunshine songs. I want to hear dirty rough songs that have lyrics that make me want to rock the hell out. It calms me down and said anger is released through the music.
