I intent to travel to London from 10-13 feb.

This involves a weekend. I am staying only in Zone1.

Would it be cheaper to buy for day tickets (note there are off peak), top up the oyster card, or buy a 7 day ticket.

If topping up the oyster card would be cheaper,by how much should I top it?

The question isn't whether to use an oyster card or not:
Whether to top up with a 7-day pass?
If no, how with what value to top up.

Top up your Oyster Card with £5 for the Saturday
If you intend to travel before 9:30 on the Monday and Tuesday buy a 3 day Zone 1-2 travel card £16.40 it works out 40p cheaper than topping up your Oyster. If you only plan to travel after 9:30 then top up your Oyster with £20 for all 4 days.

that's thoroughly dependant on the form you will return and forth. A a million day without work-top travelcard is £8.50 and covers Buses, Tube, London Overground, DLR and national Rail Trains making a tube experience on oyster applying Zone a million will value £2.ninety one way. So going there and decrease back is £5.80. This leaves £2.70 earlier a travelcard is bigger. Will you desire the bus? it quite is £a million.35 consistent with experience or £4 an afternoon on oyster. On oyster, do no longer return and forth between 4pm and 7pm or you would be charged a top fare. Travelcards are unaffected. For vacationing regionally applying in basic terms buses, an oyster card is bigger as you pay £4 for limitless bus journeys in one day. I never advise an oyster card to any vacationer. you're right here to relish your self. you may get a value ticket for the full day for a one-off fee and it quite is valid on all modes of delivery. on your case, i could use a travelcard for journeys into needed London and an oyster card for close by return and forth. (you may return the oyster card to a tube station once you're completed with it)

hey, if you have an oystercard whether you are travelling by tube or bus or whatever it is cheaper, because you Pay less than the price of a one day travelcard, (for instance) if you were getting on a bus, & you were paying Cash, you would be paying £2 per journey you make, but if you use an Oystercard, you will get a Cap on your travelling, in other words you will not pay any more than the price of a one day travelcard, so as you get on say 4 buses, you would,nt have paid any more than £3 to get to your destination, so Yes, the Oyster is easier & Cheaper.

I hope this helps you :)
