DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS AT HOME!

If you mean shooting the links, yes, it's possible, and it's not the bullet itself that you need to worry about ricocheting so much as the shrapnel created from the links. If both of your hands were in the cuffs, you would have no chance to do this. If only one hand was restrained, or if a 'friend' was helping, then it's possible.
Best plan would be to, if it's a two person job, to kneel down, and hold your hands as high up as possible, spread as far apart as possible, exerting firm pressure on the links (Don't overexert yourself. This is just to keep the links nice & taut). Keep your face down, and if you have a towel or large cloth, put it over your head & neck. Your partner needs to take close & careful aim, from a distance of about two inches. Do not sight down the irons, just line up the shot on a single link, if possible. Hold steady, close your eyes, and slowly squeeze the trigger (The odds of a 180 degree ricochet are highly unlikely, and the odds of the bullet deflecting more than a few degrees in very unlikely. Be aware of whatever's downrange as well.) The added pressure of pulling your hands apart will help, and you'll instantly know if it worked. For added safety, I would load only one round into the pistol.

DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS AT HOME!
THIS IS BETTER SUITED FOR A MYTHBUSTERS SHOW!

As the first answer suggests it probably would work but the chances of the stay bullet hitting you are scarey.

Besides in TV and Films they shoot the chain links not handcuffs.

Wouldn't have though so, more likely to break your wrist's from the shock of the bull t impacting on the handcuffs, suppose it might work if you held the handcuffs flat on something like concrete, but then the ricochet might kill you!!

If you try to shoot the cuffs off, more than anything, you will get killed by the ricocheting bullet.

Certainly it is. There is a slight problem holding the pistol in your mouth and pulling the trigger with your tongue..............
