If it is a false religion there is no benefit at all, but if it is the truth, then, there are many benefits. and you will then have the happiness that comes from following the true God in spirit and truth, and with Knowing that your worship is accepted by the true God Jehovah! Then you will have the best kind of happines that is possible for a human being!

I don't believe in having "religion". I believe in God, Jesus, and the Holy spirit. To me, "religion" is neither here nor there. When I hear that word or see it I think of meaningless rituals that aren't really for God, but are really for the people that perform them. As far as the whole not being true thing, the Bible has done something that a lie can't do; Stand the test of time.

well i think ppl should read into all religions. there maybe no benefit of having a religion, but belief in god is vital. it just gives u a bit of powerand u can say that god is with me. i think being a good human being, respecting everyone( we are all gods ppl remember) , just generally living a good, happy, non violent life is more important than having a religion.
i follow a religion, but in my religion i'm not having to do anything special or extreme, so for me its the same as someone not having a religion.

If nothing else, religion gives a community of people who sure the same views of life to get together. Whether it's to have fun or help, at the very least it's a way to bring people together for generally good purposes.

Since my religion promotes harmony with Nature, self-discovery, and knowledge about the natural world, I would continue to receive these benefits ,regardless of whether or not my gods have any objective reality.

The benefit is the just in case arguement, just in case it is true, I want to be a part of it, if not, did it really hurt me to believe during my life time. Also, if it is real, I don't want my aethist body made into a bible for eternity. That would suck.

My friend, God does not want us to be religious, He wants us to have a personal relationship with Him!

You can only do that through Jesus Christ, the son of the only living God.

All other "religions" are the wrong choice, because they do NOT lead to God, but rather to Satan and his demons.

May Jesus, who loves you so much, lead and guide you into His truth so that it may set you free.

The cultists like the benefit that groups bring: legal, social and political intimidation - oops, power. It's easier to threaten other people and tell them how to live when you stand among other bullies who agree with you.

Something to blame for the bad times.
You can legistmise your hatred for others.
You no longer have to think for yourself.
You can feel self satisfied and smug, maybe even a little superior, because you know the 'truth'.
You get a social life.
Need I go on.

You dont have to think for yourself anymore or try to study and understand difficult things like mathematics, biology, medecine or be acountable for things you do.

You just learn a few quotes from ancient books of tales and legend and each time there is something that you dont understand or feel bad for doing you say "God told me so...", "Believe or be damned".
