From the Pastafilorium plant native to Southern Italy. They also have the Spagnum plant from which we get Spagetti. Marco Polo gave us Marcoroni and Ghengis Khan gave us tinned meat.

If you mean how is it made, pasta is made from flour. Many different types of grains can be used to make flour. Several types of wheat are used to make pasta. Oats, corn and rice can also be used. The flour is mixed with water. Oil, eggs or flavorings can be added to the flour.
If you mean its origin, I think most ancient civilizations had a form of pasta. The Greeks, Romans and Chinese all had a form of pasta, although it was somewhat different than what we have today in the way it was prepared.

Well, really it depends which pasta you mean. For example, spaghetti only grows on trees in the Tuscany region (Spagetarium Blanca) whilst linguine can be found thriving on small bushes on Lake Como. Tortellini grows underground (like truffles) in cool forested areas.
