"2pm in the morning" is pretty hard to figure.

If you can manage it, I recommend sleeping more than once a day. Take naps. Then if you only get a few hours sleep at night, that's fine. But give yourself an hour or two when there is time, and you will probably find you need less sleep total for breaking it up into shorter time segments. The whole day is more rested and refreshed.

Your times are a little confusing. I assume you mean 4 am and 2 pm.

Take in no alcohol, drugs, cigarettes or caffeine . These are things that foul up your bodies schedule.

Get your mind ready at 10 pm to go to sleep by 11 pm. Do not get back up and begin doing things. Stay in bed. If I am having a problem getting to sleep I count backwards from 100, in a dark room, eyes closed.

I hate the heat and ac blowing on my face so years ago I began sleeping with a knit sleep mask. Now I cannot sleep without it. It keeps your eyes and sinuses warm.
I sleep like a baby

They sell sleep masks, but mine is actually a knit 3 inch wide winter head band. IT WORKS GREAT.

Sleep cycles operate in full in 90-minute increments. This means that your optimum performance and restfullness results from increments of 1 1/2 hours of sleep time. Anything from 3 hours (not recommended but doable) to 4.5 hours, to 6 hours (optimum time), to 7.5 hours is best. I've been on a 6 hour cycle for the last 3 months and I wake refreshed and ready to go almost every day now. I am *not* a morning person by any means, but it's also generally improved my outlook on the day.

You may have alot on your mind beforehand.

Use a pad and pen and write down everything that is affecting you including your sleep. Don't read what you write just write until you feel done, then throw the written paper in the bin later.

Also you could suggest yourself with positive affirmations (say this three times) as the last thing you say before you sleep.

Like some of these (mentioned in a sublimial program sleep CD with music):-
"I will wake up to get out of bed by midday"
"I fall to sleep easily and relax"
"I rise from sleep feeling refreshed and rejuvenated:
"I sleep peacefully"
"My mind is my friend"
"My dreams enrich my life"
"I nuture myself"
"Gentle thoughts abound" ... etc

You get the idea.

try to wake up early like on a non-busy day at maybe 8-10am so that you don't fall asleep doing something. try not to take naps then 1/2 hr before you sleep or so, drink a warm cup of something like milo and try to sleep at an earlier time.

Based on the limited facts that you have given, here is my suggestion. Get plenty of exercise, eat 6 small balanced meals, and exercise self discipline. go to bed at 2200, and get up at 0600.
