Men assume a single woman is looking for a new boyfriend at any given time. Perhaps they assume that because you were with someone before, you are looking to 'replace' him!
Congratulations on feeling so much more confident and changing yourself for the better - enjoy your new found freedom and ignore men who have such big egos, they believe everything a woman does is for them!
Go out with the girls and have a great time!!

I usually find it's not just men. When i first started seeing my bf i changed my image alittle bit, and my hpusemates (all girls) kept bugging me to find out why i'd done it and who it was for. They also keep accusing me of having changed since i started going out with my bf. But i guess people just assume that there is always a guy (or girl) behind everything we do or change.

because people can't and won't accept that others can be perfectly happy and confidant when they are single. We are all programmed to constantly search out a mate, but really, even if you do meet someone you like, and they like you too, chances are it won't work out, so you might as well get yourself happy and sussed enough to go through life single, and if you do hook up with someone, it's a bonus.

becasue just as we women think all men want to get laid men tend to believe we'll do anything to catch a man. Next time someone asks you this say the priest or something like that make a joke out of it just to let them know hey I did it for fun if I wanted to impress a man I could but I want this for me!

Because most men can't understand that a woman can be more confident and happy without a man.

glory in it and enjoy keeping them guessing your new image is confusing the guys that know you and they're wondering if they actually know you at all , a touch of mystery is good for any ones personality . you may have done it for yourself but your confidence will grow infinitely by feeding off others curiosity .

Ignore them!! You know you're doing it for yourself. They can't accept that you've done it for yourself because they would only do it to impress someone else.
Keep up the good work.. and if they don't shut up about it.. keep them guessing.. you'll be the centre of attention for weeks!!

Because guys have learned over their long period of their evolution that they have made women feel worthless and thus, make us stop wearing make-up, and taking care of our appearance, so when we break the abuse cycle, we return to our natural homeostasis of caring about ourselves. Because your so elated to be free, it just comes naturally. Like you will start to smile again and maybe smell some roses.

You admit you've done this (at least in part) because you've split from your boyfriend (suspect that means you were dumped, otherwise your confidence wouldn't need improving) - so it's all to do with men !!! You just don't want to admit it to yourself.
