Some mentioned it being evil...
Where is you logical argument that its evil?
Mine is looking at all the stonings and hanging in islamic countires, or the torture and killing of the inquisition.
Or having seen gays be peacful and nice seeing it even to treat them bad.
Or kiddie abusing kids homes. Calling kids whos parents were not married bastards
ie evil = hurting people who have not hurt others. Being mean
Whilst by comparision...
Only seen peaceful behavour from wicca types.
No repression of girls, high priestesses being girls.
Therefore as nice surely that means they are good.
Plus no concept of a devil so why devil worship?
More like tree hugging worship.
Therefore good as nice and caring and fair.

Even if its all tripe...
its peaceful nice tripe.
More so not rubbish... The herbal potions are simply herbal medicine ie aspirin came from willow tree bark.
Much of it is psychology ie wear a love band and you will find love. (dumbos magic feather giving dumbo confidence and making him more outgoing comes to mind)
And the chill out music and josticks etc does chill you out.

"Why dont chrisitins and muslims convert to pagan wicca... more peaceful etc.?"
Some of us ex-Christians HAVE. Myself and my hubby, for example.
But neither one of us would recommend or support wholesale conversion.
People who need to make others wrong in order to feel right about their own choices would not do well in Wicca.
People who need to have a personification of evil to explain the world's ills or their own bad behavior would not last.
People for whom Paganism (in any of its forms) is the right spiritual path find us on their own. There's no need to propose mass conversions, and we don't recruit.

Dude--if you think pagans are more peaceful, you haven't been a pagan very long.
I take it you've missed all the arguments and witch wars and catty backstabbing and drama. I've seen tons of it, in person and online, in the decade I've been pagan.
The only reason Wicca hasn't started any wars is because it's SIXTY YEARS OLD. That's not long enough for it to become so foundered in its own dogma that it become a political power instead of a religion.
Pagans are human. So are Christians. We all have human faults like insecurity. We just express them in different ways due to numbers and both personal and collective power. If Wicca were the dominant paradigm I guarantee you there'd be wars in the name of the Goddess. Religion is just an excuse for wars and other stupidity, and it all depends on who has the power, not what they believe. ANY religion can be corrupted--just listen to the idjits who think that the Wiccan Rede and the Threefold Law are universal Holy Writ for eveyone--THAT'S dogma right there.
In other words, quit being a pagan fundie. This kind of behavior is a big part of the reason why I really get frustrated with the pagan community sometimes. Get down off your high horse, quit being OMGSOPERSECUTED! and get it through your skull that we are all HUMAN.

Pagan is an umbrella term, it covers all sorts of earth religions; but most the time it isn't necessary to differentiate yourself between all of the other religions. Each pagan is very unique, and its hard to cookie cut exactly who is wiccan or anything else. Things overlap in paganism, so for now, don't worry about it. As for your other questions; I'm 16, I'll be 17 in May, I created my own spirituality just before I started high school, and then found afterwards that my religious beliefs were pagan. I was raised christian, but fell away from that very quickly once given the choice. I was atheist for a while, and then found wicca. My mom wasn't happy about my disbelief in god, but she's better with me being wiccan then me believing in nothing at all. Thats about it. Feel free to contact me, its great to have pagan friends. Especially when you're a solitary like I am.

While I agree that Wicca is more peaceful then the monotheistic religions; if you set out to convert people to Wicca or you'd be no better then a Fundie.
Also, while Wicca doesn't have a bad history like Christianity and Islam, you have to keep in mind its only been around for about 50 some years.
Besides, what about us non-Wiccan Pagans? You think we should convert to Wicca too?

You want them to admit they were wrong all along? Why be peaceful when you can feel superior to others, have your own private club with privileges and be allowed to justify your insane behaviour. Being pagan would be nice because it would also mean that we would take much better care of our environment (but there is no profit in that!) and we would stop discrimination and we would stop the abuse on women and the spanking of children...how can christians and muslim ever claim to be peaceful is beyond me!
And minimetro: the whole christian religion revolves around the inequality between men and women....unless they start having female popes!

"Which no history of mass abuse, wars or repression....So why not mass conversion for a better world?"
How do you propose that? Force everyone to join??? So much for your not repressing people part....
Because it isn't really all that peaceful. Have you never heard of the "witch wars" of New York in the 1970's? Or the numerous coven rivaleries?
Although Wicca isn't an ancient Pagan religion by any means the Pagan religions of the past were from peaceful either! You may find this hard to believe, but Roman Pagans used to throw Christians to the lions. An estimated 3 million Christians or so were murdered during "The Lion Times".
Also, women fared far better under Christianity than they did under Paganism, hence many early converts to Christianity were women. For instance, in many ancient European Pagan cultures women were expected to kill themselves if they had been raped. Women couldn't inherit their husband's property upon his death and would often times throw themselves upon the funeral pyre die with them. Christianity changed all that.

They don't convert because everyone has their own path to follow. That is a big part of Wicca, respecting other's beliefs and not proselytizing and trying to convert them.

The vast majority of the world's Christians and Muslims live very peacefully. I think many Christian women would be puzzled to hear you say that their religion doesn't treat women equally.
In pre-Christian times young girls were often sacrificed to the sun or the moon etc. I'm sure the moon really appreciated all those dead bodies.
