Are there any website that gives a completely free and quality guide in pencil sketching? I have problems drawing well-proportioned human figures with normally-structured limbs and facial organs. As i want to draw my clothing designs out, i would like to be able to draw a nice model to show my outfit as well, so i wanna know if there are such websites. Also, i wanna learn some coloring skills using watercolor or color pencil. Any website teaches these as well? Step-by-step styled ones even better!

I'm no expert on fashion design, though I recall that most fashion drawings are all about the clothes, and the figure they rest on is more stylized than realistic. If you want to sell your fashion ideas, you probably need to concentrate more on your fashion drawings.

Why not go to your local library and find a book on a fashion designer that you admire? You'll get an idea of how they present their ideas.

While you're at the library, check out their art instruction books. If you're determined to be able to draw the human figure, look for Betty Edward's book, Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain. She discusses many techniques for honing one's drawing skills. You'll likely, also, find a number of books on using color. They may or may not help. Where painting is concerned, it's generally best to take a formal class--at least if you're in a hurry to learn. You can certainly teach yourself to paint, but it might take longer than you'd like.

If you the time and the financial means, I'd strongly suggest taking college courses in the field that you want to study, and work toward a career in fashion design. In this setting, you'll learn everything you need to know about the industry--from the initial drawings, all the way to conception . This will (also) tell prospective customers that you're serious about your craft. While some people may argue that you need to go to "top" schools for these types of things, I'd like to emphasize that if you have the talent and ambition to be a success, you will be.

If money is an issue, please know that many community colleges and community centers teach adult education classes. This would be a great place to learn watercolor and/or drawing, and you can do it at very little cost. This would at least get you started. :)

Good luck.

I don't know about the lessons, but any old anatomy website (there's tons of them out there!) will do to help with structure and proportion. Good for reference, too.
