Internal Parasites
Internal parasites can reside in your dog's body and cause illness. Some, like roundworms can be visible to the naked eye in your dog's stool. Others, like whipworms must be detected under a microscope. Your dog's annual veterinary exam should include a stool sample and this will determine whether your dog needs a deworming.
If you have concern that your dog may get roundworms, he can take a monthly heartworm medication as a preventative measure.-

You should never worm your dog until you've taken a stool sample to the vet to confirm that he has worms. The vet will prescrive a treatment if he does that is much more effective than anything you might buy in a pet store.

It depends on what your pet is.... If its a puppy or kitten, they should be wormed every 2 - 3 months with a good quality "all wormer", that should keep it healthy and worm free...

As soon as you have a fecal test run at your Vets and they tell you he has worms. You need to buy the wormer from your Vet, the OTC stuff is pretty useless.
All puppies do NOT need to be wormed. I have had many litters that never needed worming. It depends on how you keep your dogs and your climate.
Why do people keep putting toxins in their puppies bodies if they don't NEED it?

As per the indian conditions, it is better that u deworm yr pet every 20 days. I do that to my pet dog of 6 months. She loves digging into the mud and exploring stuff which we humans find extemely dirty.
There r 2 types of medicines which u can alternate every time. Consult yr Vet. He is the best person to advice u.....

Untill the puppy is 6months old it should be wormed every month. Once the puppy has reached 6months then every 3months from then on. Also the weight of the puppy needs to be taken so to ensure the correct dose.

How old is your dog?
Has he been wormed before?
EVERY puppy and EVERY kitten are born with worms. They're natural. Sometimes they die on their own, sometimes they don't.
Worming pets is necessary and helpful. :)
