Digging Solutions
If you find your pooch is digging up your yard, consider giving him a designated "dig area." Then make sure you keep the rest of your yard off limits. If he's got some place to burn energy and an outlet for his natural tendency to dig, he's less likely to ruin your yard.

Also make sure make sure your canine gets lots of exercise and attention, and has items to chew, as digging can be a sign of boredom.-

Usually to keep cool or out of boredom.

Allow the dog to have at least one hole in a shady spot.

Put the dogs own poo in the other holes and the dog won't touch them again.

Digging is actually a very natural behavior for dogs and it also is very pleasurable for them to do. They dig out of boredom, (or they have too much pent up energy) to escape, to bury or hide things for later, to find a cool area if they are too hot. Alot of times is the lack of exercise and they have pent up energy. some relieve flustration by doing it and others who do not have enough to ( not enough to keep them busy) do it to give themselves something to do.
