It might be a technicality that someone would use to try to get out of a ticket. But realistically what difference does it make? If the person deserved to get a ticket, it doesn't really matter who placed the ticket on the car.

No, that officer can be reprimanded as he/she is not doing the job as police officer. When issuing a citation it is the responsibilty of the officer to place the ticket on the windshield of vehicle or to directly hand the ticket to person.

That's nitpicking. If the officer wrote the ticket ligitimately, witnessed it's placement correctly, it's acceptable. If your friend removed the ticket from the windshield, does that negate your responsibility for the ticket? Nice try, just pay the fine.

Who cares! The officer was letting the child get a feel of police work. So what.

I don't think this is a big deal, what difference does it make if the kid put it on the windshield if he was monitored by his father, the issuing officer. You might have an argument, but if tickets are a public matter, then i think you are just screwed

absolutely not. Only the officer can issue a ticket, and it MUST be delivered by the officer, not his kid, wife, dog, or ANYONE ELSE.
