it's noting more than the standard bad information that continually gets passed on with no medical study to prove such.

late night meals should consist of proteins and fats. there's no reason for carbs when the activity level is at it's lowest.

going to bed hungry and not eating for 9-10 hours is a problem. I don't know many people that are actually lean (below average body fat) that skip meals.

it does not really matter but u get better sleep if finish ur food 3-4 hours ahead of time at which u normally retire.

Eat nourishing food with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables being part of it. Chew each morsel at least 32 times. This will activate signal to the brain as soon as u have had enough. Please eat only when u r hungry and not more than three times in 24 hours. Take only water in between. Besides this change in eating style, take regular light exercises and brisk walks every day. U will be able to gain/shed all extra weight gracefully and in a reasonable time span.

With weightwatchers, it doesn't matter what time you eat, as long as you stick to your points allowance for each 24 hours. Some people get indegestion if they eat late, but if it isn't a problem for you then don't worry about it.

A lot of people say you shouldn't eat late because you want to have time to burn off what you have eaten. You have to balance that off against lying in bed, unable to sleep because your stomach is growling. The "old wives" I remember used to say a cup of cocoa at bed-time. Perhaps sugar-free cocoa? Or just a small glass of milk, although the cold is not as good as the warm. Can you drink bouillon?

When you eat late at night, your body does not have time to fully digest your food before you go to sleep. This is not healthy for your digestive system. Alos, your metabolic rate decreases when you sleep, so you will not burn the calories you consumed as efficiently as if you'd consumed them in the morning (especially after a workout).

because your body cannot digest things properly late at night and you have more chance of absorbing all the badness from the food. Bad fats, calories etc. Your body cannot break these down late in the evening because your activity levels are low (because you are in bed sleeping)

no its not an old wives tale, food should not be consumed late at not, digestive system slows down and you are not as active at night as you are during the day, it is easier to keep weight off by avoiding late night eating

Its simple the metabolism really slows down towards sleeping time.As a result fat is not burnt away properly and you also develoop a series of stomach issues that its better to avoid.

if you eat at night say 8 p.m. and you go to bed at 10 p.m. your metabolism slows down while you sleep so your body does not burn off the exess callories you shouldnt eat after 7 p.m.
