Hope someone could help me with this coz it's really bothering me, I have searched the internet, but found no answer. Thanks!

In the beginning, all pots and plates were "thrown" on a potter's wheel. And round is what you get from a potter's wheel.

And since round was easy to stir and nobody felt they could improve on the original design, we have round today as well.

If you have to clean a square cooking pot after burning some food in it, you'd know the answer.

Why is this bothering you? There are more pressing things in life to bother about!

Because most burners are round in addition to the stirring issue

Back in the old days it was a easier to make round pots.+easier to clean and store

So that it is easier to stir and also to aid heat distribution! Fires were generally round too, in the old days!

Have you ever tried to stir in a square? Better yet......let's make em moon shaped. What would the spatula look like?

So you can stir easier. It would be a pain to stir in a square pot.

It would be hard to get to the food if it gets stuck in the corners. You can't stir consistently if the food is in the corners! ;)
