Honey contains about 1600 calories to the pound. The caloric value of honey nearly equals that of cane-sugar (1800 cal.) but in every other respect honey is far superior. If honey contained no water its caloric value would be practically the same as that of cane-sugar. A tablespoonful of honey weighs about an ounce and provides the body with 100 calories.

Honey does not contain any harmful chemicals and is entirely utilized by the digestive tract. Not more than one two-hundredth part is wasted. Commercial or white sugar, made from sugar-cane, beets, corn, etc., is submitted to several complicated boiling procedures during the process of manufacture. The organic acids, protein, nitrogen elements, fats, enzymes and vitamins are extracted or destroyed; on the other hand, hydrochloric, phosphoric and sulphuric acids, lime and other foreign substances are added.

So for me its honey anytime!!!

There would be no caloific benefit as honey is roughly the same sugar content as real sugar.
However, there are meant to be certain health benefits from honey, despite the calorific value, that you would not get from sugar.

Not sure about calorific difference but I do know that sugar is the debris and it is provided for human consumption!!! The last extract, blackstrap mollasses, which comes from the roots that bore sometimes metres into the ground they give to the cows!!! Apparently when food is scarce on cattle stations they give cows mollases so as they don't mind eating the cruddy grass!! Meantime, mollasses is loaded with all sorts of essential vitamins/minerals and provides loads of health benefits. Just use it in place of sugar.:)

this depends on your state of health. for instance, if you suffer from diabetes (all stages) one is as dangerous as the other.
something else you might want to consider is the following. As we all know bees collect their pollen for manufacturing honey from a variety of plants. Unfortunately all of these plants are loaded with chemicals, form pesticide spray, weed spray and the worst of all an unacceptable amount in the air (plants are supposed to filter and clean the oxygen in the air, but the levels we have reached make that impossible).
you might want to try other things that will cut back on your refined sugar intake like using lemon juice (those little yellow lemon shaped plastic bottles that sell for about 80 cents) in your tea instead of milk and sugar. Incidentally drinking black tea this way provides you with as much if not more health benefits than green tea. Read labels and experiment, there are always other ways.

Honey is obviously much better for you.
A. Its natural and anything natural is 100% better for you than anything processed.
B. It requires less to get more of a flavor, therefore as far as calories go, it requires a less amount to create a great flavor, which means less calories than if you were to pack on the sugar.

Not much to choose as far as the food value is concerned. U do get some minerals in addition.

Eat nourishing food with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables being part of it. Chew each morsel at least 32 times. This will activate signal to the brain as soon as u have had enough. Please eat only when u r hungry and not more than three times in 24 hours. Take only water in between. Besides this change in eating style, take regular light exercises and brisk walks every day. U will be able to gain/shed all extra weight gracefully and in a reasonable time span.

No longer rather fitter. Sugar is sugar, and honey is more targeted than the granulated product. The key is moderation. Unless you've gotten a scientific situation which limits glucose/fructose consumption, the option is generally a topic of individual taste. I admire honey higher, myself. :)

apart from tasting good, honey is great for spreading on cuts etc and promotes quick healing. Only try it inside the house and cover it up to 1/prevent making a mess on the sheets and 2/attacting wasps. Those flies in football jerseys pack a good sting.

Anything that is derived from a natural substance is obviously better for us. It has calories just like sugar but they are better because they are natural.
It's just like eating an apple which has natural sugar in it.
You are getting sugar but it's not refined sugar but natural sugar.
