I share my apples with my dog whenever I have one. I don't overdo it. She likes veggies too. And I don't care what others say, chocolate is a definate NO NO. There is a chemical in it that is poisonous to dogs.

Dogs can eat most fruit and veg. items with out harm. Dogs in a wild state when they kill an animal will go for the guts first and, as the animals they kill are normally herbivores a good portion of their diet is actually grains and vegetable matter, the last thing a dog will eat once it has killed is the flesh. (Cats are a different matter however and are total carnivores.)
Processed or manufactured foods like chocolate however are not good as their digestive system is not designed to cope with them.

Apples are fine. As for chocolate, while some dogs do seem able to tolerate it, chocolate for humans contains theobromine, which is leathal to dogs cause they can't digest it, however, you can get dog chocolate wich doesn't have the theobromine in it so is safe. It doesn't take much chocolate to kill a dog, so I for one would prefere not to feed my dog chocolate. If you absolutly must feed chocolate, then generally, the darker the chocolate, the more theobromine it will contain.

My 6 month old lab LOVES apples and he is very healthy. He also loves carrots. They can get the runs when eating them but thats not because they are ill, its just because it is fruit. Give your dog a whole apple and it will keep him occupied for ages.

Yes but not the pips as they contain arsenic. They also loke raw carrot. They are both good as sweet crunchy snacks rather than a lot of the dog treats which contain mostly suger (even the meaty ones.)

Apples are fine. Dogs are omnivores anyway. Just don't feed them human chocolate or grapes. They're toxic to dogs. My dog LOVES raw veg, especially carrots and cauliflower. She LOVES cheese to! (weird dog).
