I'm guessing that the guy was one of those urban duckhunters that supply the local expensive restaurants with their ducks. He was going for a couple of ducks, not the kid. He was waiting for you to move out of the area. Yeah, you're being paranoid. Despite everything you hear, it is very rare for a kid to be grabbed off the street by a stranger. Happens maybe a dozen or so times a year, out of maybe 50 million kids. And certainly not in front of an adult who can supply a description to the police. And 10 years is a little old. Most of the whackos are looking for a kid maybe 5 to 8 years old. The only other thing I can think of is maybe it was a couple of guys who had been paid by a divorced parent to snatch the kid from the custodial parent and there was a case of mistaken identity. That happens often enough. Next time get a license plate number. Carry a small pair of binoculars in your purse. (Just joking about the "duckhunters")

I would have reached in my coat pocket and caressed my colt combat commander. That is until they left. If they did not leave and made an aggressive move toward the boy I would have shot both of them and fed them to the ducks. Then I would have taken their Van an sold it to illegal immigrants. Oh senior, those two skeletons in the back are play things for Halloween. Of course they are free a small token of my good will. In two days the van would be in Mexico. OK so it is a bit crude but it beats the Hell out of my grandson being in Mexico. Van? Skeletons? Oh yes, I remember some Mexicans took it. I was parked over by the duck pond. I thought it was theirs.

Call the POLICE !!! What would thy do???Lets get real here for a moment...No, you are not paranoid. You are very lucky.
I would prepare my self to draw my firearm and shoot the abductor .If you don't have a firearm ,i would train myself and go purchase one.
If your grandchild was abducted ,chances are you wouldn't have gotten a good look at the man or his license plate as thy where speeding away. And even if you did have a good ID on them ,the chances of the police catching them are very very slime.Farther more ,if the slim chance the police did happen to catch them before harming your grandchild ,the trauma to you and your grandchild could be life changing.
Please protect you and yours.GET A GUN.Learn to use it.Instead of walking your grandchild in a park.Take them to a Shooting Range. Its a more fun activity than feeding ducks ,and its 100% safer.

Well I would have alerted the police in case he were a possible abductor. I would also have watched to make sure he didn't grab anyone and I would have written his license plate down in case he left before the police arrived on scene. A person can never be too careful these days.
