Did you know that Islam IS actually a peaceful religion?

Unfortunately, the extremists are the ones setting Muslims up. The moderates pray all day and only worship God. Allah is God. Allah means God. Allah was stated not only in the Quran, but in the original Arabic/Aramaic Bible.

The Quran you all speak of has not been fully stated. It mentions killing in some suras, but in the suras previous or next over, it'll show you what it means. You are mislead by people who just hate the religion and don't study it, and you are mislead by the extremists of Islam.

The Quran states things like the Bible.

I'm not trying to convert you. I am a Christian myself and I know Muslim moderates.

Are people really that blind? You only copy and paste or blindly state suras without providing the rest of the verses around them. YOU actually need to read the Quran.

You are mad at the wrong people. The soldiers exposed to Islamic extremists are there because the US and British governments insist in putting their noses in places they do not belong. DO NOT BE pissed at the extremists when soldiers are killed, they are simply defending what is theirs. You should refocus your anger on the ignorant governments who subject our men and women to this. I had a friend killed in Iraq and it was one of the most devestating things I have ever experienced. But, I was able to put things into perspective... he signed up to defend the US government even if he did not agree with their agenda. He was a trained KILLER who also killed innocent people. He was a seen as a foreigner invading a land that was not his. He did not deserve to die; he was simply a pawn for the government. Try to imagine how you would feel in your homeland was invaded by outsiders telling you how to live. I suspect you would become an extremist yourself.

Back to the question... I live in a Muslim country where there are no extremists or war and life is peaceful and happy here.

Yes. Everyone who has actually investigated Islam knows that. It is a fact that Islam is peaceful. In fact, the whole Qur'an teaches peace, moderation, justice and tolerance.

What ISN'T peaceful is the message that islamophobes are promoting on Yahoo! Answers, people who misquote the Qur'an, take verses out of context or just plain attack Islam for no apparent reason. Please investigate the matter carefully and with an open mind.

All religions are dangerous and have the potential to churn out extremists. Because they are exclusive on the point of their dogma, religious zealots are prepared to persecute non-believers. The real sadness is that God\Allah, Yarweh and all other religious godheads do not exist. They are fairytales. All the death and suffering caused in their name is a disgrace.

You are right. The Quran also says to ponder it, to think about the meanings. Most people don't do this. They are not able to put themselves into the shoes of another. hello friend, this is a very good question- something the present scenario demands. ofcourse, islam like anyother religion is very peaceful. unfortunately many people dont know the difference bw faith and fanaticism. they are the ones who kill innocents in the name of religion. I dont thnik any religious text demands its followers to kill others. all the religions are just different paths which lead to the same destination- God. oNly that he is known by several names. and finally to those people who think koran is not peaceful- read the truth as it is and not the way you want it to be

I'll believe that when the "peaceful" & "moderate" Muslims speakout....LOUD and CLEAR and without question....against those "extreme Muslims".

Untill then, their silence supports the violence and one can only conclued the violence is part of the doctrine and that is why all those "peaceful" Muslims are so quiet.....no matter how you slice it; their silence speaks louder than your question and is de facto support.

The Muslims should prove they are peaceful by coming together and speaking out against the violence!!
