A prognosis is very difficult to make. There are a number of forms of the disease. In relapsing remitting MS, the symptoms come and go and the severity can vary from person to person. . In the progressive form of the disease, the symptoms get worse as time goes by. Relapsing remitting can turn into progressive over time. While some people experience very mild symptoms and continue to live a relatively normal existence,. others loose their ability to walk, talk, and they may even eventually go blind. MS is not just a physical disease. It can play havoc with the emotions, short term memory and cognition. There are four or five treatments approved by the FDA that must be injected under the skin or into the muscle. They were mentioned above. Some people use a variety of alternative therapies.. The disease is unpredictable. You can call the National MS Society or go to their website and receive any information that you would like. And don't hesitate to call them. They are a marvelous resource for all of us that suffer from the disease. Peace!

Do you drink "diet sodas" or eat other "diet" or "lite" foods? The excellent movie "Sweet Misery" links aspartame consumption with MS and other degenerative diseases that respond well to withdrawal of this dangerous additive - you can see excerpts at the address below.
Additionally, the fat that lines your nerves (myelin) is what is missing in MS (the cells get damaged and reduce the conductivity of the nerve). This fat is made of omega-3 fatty acid. If you don't have this is in your diet, it will contribute significantly.
25% of Americans eat so little Omega-3 that you can't even measure it in their blood, yet over 40% (by weight) of your brain and nerves is made from it! See second link for more info.
