Just get a copy of Windows XP upgrade. Boot to windows, put the CD in the drive, it will walk you through the upgrade process.

First check to see if your computer spec will allow a up grade- it is possible to upgrade to XP however most computer which were set up with ME are old computers and as such cannot be up grade to XP - if this is the case look at up grading to Win 2000 or down grading to Win 98SE.
Win 2000 (NTFS) & Win 98SE (Fats) are both better than ME.
